Entering the Kingdom of Heaven through the mind of a child
No matter what religion you are, there is a great lesson to be learned from the bible when Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
We are born with innocence, life being our vey own open canvas, ready to learn and grow. As children, our imagination is pure, unrestricted, and abundant. We engage and share our imagination with adults and they in turn support us, and for a moment get lost in our colorful imaginations.
Then something happens…, something changes…; our innocence and imagination is taken from us by the very people who at one time supported us. It’s not intentional, it is simply a repetition ofwhat happened to them as they became Adults. We are told wenow have to grow up, we have to be “Realistic”. Life is hard and we have to be responsible.
We then repress our imagination, we become “responsible Adults”, we work hard and for the most part we lose our innocence, we lose our “spark”.
It does not have to be one or the other, we can have them both. We can be Adults and child-like, with an unrestricted imagination. It is called “Balance”. If we focus completely on being an “Adult”, we will be out of balance and weak. If we focus completely with ourimagination we will be out of balance and weak. Balance is the key to life, it is the ebb and flow, the yin and yang. It is the dance of living life to its fullest. Having Balance is having Strength.
Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge”
Knowledge and Imagination are meant to work together. There is no other combination that is more Powerful.
Knowledge is what we gain as we grow and take responsibility for our life. Imagination is the critical link to turn our knowledge into something magical. Nothing exists that was not first Imagined…, Nothing! We dream it, we Imagine it and then we gain the knowledge to create it.
Imagination inspires us - Imagination drives us - Imagination keeps us young!
Dedicate the Month of February to “Change” or better, to “re-engage” with the child that lies within you. Commit to re-engage with your Imagination. Allow it to flow pure, unrestricted, abundantly, and Re-Ignite your Spark!
